Deacon Xavier Sariman sm was ordained priest

On Saturday 1st October 2016 Deacon Xavier Sariman sm was ordained priest by Rochus Tatamai MSC, Bishop of Bereina, Central Province.
The symbolic first day of the month represents many "first" in the life of this young man.
He is the "first" Sariman to be ordained priest after the 131 years since the arrival of the first missionaries to Yule Island and the commencement of the history and work of evangelization in the Southern Region. Amongst the household family names associated with the pioneers missionaries are the Sarimans, Solians, Kassmans, Nateras, Fabillas to name some as missionary tradition holds and passed on.
Another of the "first" was the fact the small boy Xavier Sariman was among the altar boys who served the then Fr Rochus Tatamai who was Assistant Parish Priest at St Pauls Gerehu stage 6 in the early 90s.
It was a big transformation that the then altar boy who served and assisted the priests at the altar is now ordained priest by the Bishop he served as a priest at Stage 6 Gerehu. Is this another really sweet "first" added to the list?
The other notable "first" was the fact that he was baptised by the MSCs, educated by the Don Boscos, and formed to be a religious missionary Priest by Marists which he now joins them.
On the 131st anniversary of Evangelization in the Southern Region beginning at Yule Island in 1885 as well as on the 50years of the establishment of the Dioceses in PNGSI during the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy, Xavier Sariman sm is ordained priest as the "first" son from Bereina to join the Marists. Thanks be to God now and forever. It looks like the Church received a rare grace and blessing "a gracing moment" throughout which now in reality the Lord has done great things for us and holy is his Name. Thanks alot to Patrick Sariman and Maria with the Sarimans and extended families for generously offering your son to Mary and her beloved Son Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Congratulations Fr. Xavier Sariman sm, the Marists Religious Family, to the MSCs and Chevalier Family, to the Salesians of Don Bosco and to all families and communities who desire and support vocations to the Priesthood and Religious life. We owe all vocations to mums and dads in good practising faithful families.
